Vanishing edge pool Costa Rica

In Florida we frequently see a Vanishing Edge pool or an Infinity Edge pool. You often see them in locations where beyond the pool edge you just see water, whether a lake beyond, or open ocean. Sometimes, when there is a traditional light pool surface, the edge intrudes, even though it's not very wide.

Here, in this pool in Costa Rica, you have a dark pool surface, which gives the impression of a natural lagoon rather than a modern pool. This one is well done, and from this edge it looks as though you might fall off with the water, dropping hundreds of feet to the ocean below.

Not to worry - there's a safe pool wall that will keep you enclosed.

Pool design and tropical landscaping can certainly create ambiance, though.

Oh gosh!  I want to jump right in!   It even looks a wee bit "bathing suit optional"!

Sharon , I love negative edge pools (as they sometimes say in Austin, Texas) and they are so dramatic when looking out over the landscape, the oceans or even the Texas Hill country! Of course it's not nearly as exotic as your part oif the world!

Wow! At first I did not know it was a pool. I thought it was a creek.

What a motivator!  We have a wonderful view from our back yard and are wanting a pool for the grandkids.  I will keep this in mind as we proceed - it helps me go every morning.  Thanks for the mindset.

Pat - sure look that way, but this one is a bit more public than I'd want.

Russell - I think it woul be pretty nice in the Texas hill country,

Monique - that's the intent of the black pool surface.

Shirley - come on in, the water's fine.

Jim - I'm sure you'd enjoy it as well as the grandkids.
