I got an email from this company today inviting me to a free seminar on "How to Become an REO Listing Agent" presented by Lions Gate Financial Network.  I was looking for other realtors that have attended this free seminar to let me know if it provided useful information or was it just a fake seminar to ask us to invest in some pricey service they were trying to sell?  Anything you can tell me about them and/or the seminar would be great!  Here's the email they sent advertising it:

FORECLOSURES UP 32%   Mansfield, MA - Wednesday June 3rd at 10am to 2pm     Where: Mansfield, MA - Holiday Inn Mansfield/Foxboro - 31 Hampshire street, Mansfield, MA 02048   You have a phenomenal opportunity to get the nuts and bolts of what to do and how to do it when it comes to getting your REO listing. The Moratorium has been lifted and the Banks are in process of starting their foreclosures again. Asset managers are going to be overwhelmed and you need to know what to do. Lionsgate Financial Network can make that happen! For only 2 hrs of your day and at no cost you will get you information that you need to get your first REO listing or help you to increase the number of listings you currently have.   Lionsgate Financial Network is the training company that former bankers created to help find and train agents for her sister asset management company as well as other asset management companies in today's REO market. We know what we are talking about!

- What some of the other Asset Managers have to say:

ETCREO Management:

Still opportunities: Absolutely.

Any advice: Experience.  But we understand that there has not been a lot of REO's out there so Training is a must.

National Default Servicing LLC:

Too late? No, there are always opportunities. The moratorium has slowed things down and created a big buildup, since every agent on the block wants to become an REO agent.  It is tough to break into the REO side of things right now, but there are still opportunities.

Any advice?:  Tough to say.  They are more of an outsourcer that works with particular asset managers (Wilshire is her client, and most companies have their own in-house criteria).

They are not so much looking for experience, but responsiveness and the ability to get the job done.  They want them to respond quickly to emails, get the BPO's back to them quickly.

Training: Do you want a doctor that has never gone to school to treat your child?

Just this last month at REOMAC in Palm Springs, CA LionsGate was the featured speaker for the "How to become a successful REO Listing agent " and was on the Bankers only round table. This gave us a chance to see what the other asset managers and top Banks were looking for.

LionsGate is in the unique position to tell you what the asset managers want as this training and coaching company is headed by bankers. We are looking for Agents that want to become REO Agents. 70% of all listings will be foreclosures don't you want to hear from the people that know what you need to learn. This training class will give you the knowledge that you need, from getting the listing to what you need to expect and what is expected of you.

We will be talking about the following:

- How to get your First or next 20 REO listings

- How to contact Asset Managers and what to say when you do

- Creating a REO Resume that will get you the job

- Completing a Professional BPO that will get you the listings

- What to do after you get the listings

- What it takes to keep your score card high so that they continue to send you listings

Cost : Free

Hi Dinah,

So are you saying that they are selling something?  That's what I was trying to find out because they are advertising a "Free" seminar to learn how to build your REO resume and how to contact asset manager companies to get the listings.  Wasn't sure if there was a catch once you got there or not.

Thanks,

Kathleen
