Customer Loyalty

By
Real Estate Agent with Grand Heritage Realty

We all take out customers all the time but lately it seems like they are not as loyal as there were last year.

It's not just with myself, I have seen it with other agents.  Do you think its because there is not as many customers as last year and they just pick one and go to the next to see if they can find a better deal?

If anyone else has ideas on this please post, I'd like to hear your ideas too.  Have a great week.

The only thing that immediately comes to mind is to build a good relationship with each client and continued follow up so that they know that you care about them after the sale and aren't willing to let your relationship with them wither.

I tend to think that some clients bypass loyalty for convenience.  Unless you have built up a great repoire, if they call and you don't answer, the agent on the sign might.  I have had people call on listings not wanting to "bother" their agent and wondering if I could do the viewing with them.  Everyone is different, you have those who will remain loyal forever and those who will throw your number away the minute the transaction is completed.  I also think back...how loyal have I been along the way to car dealerships, oil companies, insurance companies, etc...some yes.....some no.

Thanks for the comments and for this year I am finding that they are not jumping all over the place as last year as I commented in my post before.  I do a monthly newsletter and give to all my contacts either by mail or email.  I stay in contact with my customers constantly in one way or another by cards, emails, handouts, stat report for their neighborhood etc.  If anyone else has other ideas please leave a post, I am always looking for new and better ways.

Hi Daphna,  I see you have been out of the rain for awhile.  I hope things are going well and you find the desire to return to the Rain!
