Normally, I would write about my listings or perhaps the market conditions. But today, and moving forward for the next two months, I am going to write about a challenge I am facing. Actually, my challenge is much smaller than my dear friend Katie's.

See, a week or so ago, my friend Katie found out that her leukemia had reared it's ugly head again. She had already gone through 6 months or so of chemo, been infected with bad heprin (sp?), lost her hair, missed time with her family and friends and was terrified of her leukemia ever coming back. When all was said and done, she came out feeling great, looking great, and had a great attitude.

That lasted about 1.5 years. She was in remission for about 18 glorious months. No more. Now she gets to celebrate her 32nd birthday in the hospital awaiting a bone marrow transplant from her brother. I felt helpless and wanted to know what I could do to help.

I have decided to enter a HALF MARATHON in her honor. I want to show my support for her and to help fight leukemia.

So, I am a FULL month behind the rest of the participants. But today I trained by going 2 miles. I personally have never run more than 5 miles in my life. Now, I'm overweight, out of shape, and terrified. But, I figure this is the least I can do to show my support for my dear friend.
