What is the Purpose of the Blogger's Choice Group?

• Blogger's Choice Selectionshas been formed to highlight Blog Posts that are NOT Featured on the Active Rain Network Blog dashboard but which You feel are Significant, Important, Interesting, Well Written & an Example of A Good Blog Post.
• As the Active Rain Network experiences continued phenomenal growth, the task of evaluating all the posts is expanding.  We recognize & applaud the hard work of the Active Rain Moderators in reading hundreds of posts each day & having to determine which posts to select.  They do a phenomenal job!
• However, the reality is that a number of Excellent Posts may not get the attention they deserve as the Network expands.  So, This is Your Opportunity as a Blog Author to Let the Community Know about Your Personal Favorites!  We ask the Question...If you were to Select a Few of Your Own Blog Posts each week that You felt were Special....What Would they Be? 

How Many Blog Posts Can I submit?

• There is a Limit of 2 Blog Posts a Week.  This is to encourage all of us to be Selective in what we post & to increase participation by a larger number of the members of the community. UPDATE:  The limit of 2 posts a week was deleted in January of 2008. We only request that you submit work that you truly believe is worthy of more exposure.

What Topics are Suitable for Posting on Blogger's Choice?

• Any Topic that you choose to write on is suitable for posting...with one Exception...NO Rants or posts that are derisive of other member's of the community.

What Benefit is there to Posting on this Forum?

• This is an "Open Source" Group.  We are still developing the best format & your suggestions are welcome.  Groups on Active Rain are often indexed in search engine results.  Blogger's Choice has the potential to enhance your search engine rankings if the posts on this forum are worthy of reading & commenting on.  It's up to us!  Also, membership in a group like this will expose you to great posts which you may otherwise miss as the Network of Active Rain continues to grow. 

What is the Blogger's Choice Spotlight?

• The Blogger's Choice Spotlight is an opportunity for a Member Volunteer to choose 5-10 Favorite Blog Posts to highlight.  We hope to launch the Spotlight Feature within the next month or so.  Volunteers are encouraged to contact the Group Moderator.  You will be notified by e-mail about your opportunity to host the Blogger's Spotlight.  Blogger's Spotlight choices will be highlighted on the Group's home page.

Why does Everyone have a Gold Star?

• To launch the Blogger's Choice Group, we have decided to award Everyone a Gold Star!  It's the Founding Members who will do the work necessary to make this group a Success.  There are currently 15 Members in the Group. This is a Great Start.  We encourage you to invite other members & to invite writer's of great posts that you come across to post on this forum.  For these reasons, Everyone will receive a Gold Star in Recognition of your efforts to make this forum a success!  As the group grows, this may be modified to highlight just one starred entry, the Blogger's Choice Spotlight...but once again, this is YOUR group...weigh in with what you think.

What if my post is Featured on Active Rain's Network?

• We applaud the fact that your efforts have been recognized!  If you posted to this group prior to your Featured post & then your post was subsequently Featured, this is great & will not in any way affect your entry on Blogger's Choice.  You may also choose to post a Featured Post, however since this has already been highlighted on Active Rain, you might want to consider another piece that you have written which has not received this additional exposure.
