If I hear the news say Twitter one more time I may just Tweet you!

Okay, its hip, its the cool thing to do. Tweet away. Follow me. Please follow me. Come on you know you want to follow me.

I am just not sure why everyone loves twitter so much. I use it, I follow people, I get some followers, but what are you really following. Did you really want to know how many times I went to the bathroom today. I guess if thats your thing who am I to tell you differently.

I have grown a little fonder of twitter recently, and continue to learn a lot from tweetdeck, and twibs, but the founders of twitter must have paid celebrities and the media to report on how great twitter is. I can't tell you how many times I have heard the local, regional, and national news media mention twiiter in a news report.

What do you tweet about? How do you use it for business?

I realize that I'm completely out of tune with recent popular real estate Internet marketing, but I still believe that Twitter is a colossal waste of time.

Use the ActiveRain feed to automatically post links to your ActiveRain blogs on Twitter. If you use the Facebook application to Twitter, your ActiveRain blog links will automatically appear on your Facebook wall as well.

If you use twitter properly, it can be an amazing tool to build business relationships. The key is to use the social side of it more than the media. I have been able to build many great relationships just from twitter that have resulted in business just from being me and conversing with those that are followers/following me. But, like Lenn said, it isn't for everyone. Some just hate it. I wouldn't put all my eggs in just a twitter basket. Just like any type of successful marketing, you have to have balance.

I use it, but, cannot seem to find time to tweet about what I am doing all day long like some. I am with you on thinking....what the heck is the news doing....they are talking about it constantly! We even have a commercial and I can't remember what it is exactly for but they talk about twittering too...geesh!

This may be one of those things that needs to perk for a couple of years more to see the true value...

Hi David - I use Twitter but don't tweet all that much. I guess there's a value to it as a Realtor but I've had more success off LinkedIn and Facebook.

Twitter has definitely gone mainstream - it's in every publication we subscribe to this week/month. I didn't get twitter until I got tweetdeck - that made it manageable. I'm geting to know some people from AR in a much more informal way, plus finding out about news events locally and other places.

Jon, thank you for your comment. I agree, I have had more success on Linkedin and Facebook, but I think that twitter may bring a different audience so it may be good to work on twitter as well.
