Something I'd like to think that we all agree upon is the need to help out our Public Schools and the Students that attend them.

BlogCatalog choose today, May 28th, to promote the non-profit organization: DonorsChoose.org.

The site allows Teachers to submit proposals for Projects and then the donors can pick the specific Project that they would like to help fund.

Their Home Page says it best:

"DonorsChoose is a simple way to provide students in need with resources that our public schools often lack.

Here, teachers submit ideas for materials or experiences that their students need to learn. Individuals like you can choose a project and make it a classroom reality."

Here is their current goal:

"The goal is to raise $25,000 for schools around the country, many of which are in New Orleans. Our hope is that we will blow this goal away and raise far more money. If we do we will have set a precedent that will enable the blogging community to do a bunch of good for other causes in the future.

To help out with The Challenge, just click on this link, check out the current Projects and donate if you can.

I just stopped in here to banish your zero and see if you've been ticking anyone off in the 'Rain.  :P  Have you finished reading "How to make friends and influence people", yet?

What a great way to fundraise.  The fact that you can support a specific project makes it so much more personal.

Jamie-Lynn-

I think that making it personal will be a big help - a donor will actually know where their $ is going.

Much better then it just going into a big pot.
