Not only has the temperature been in the mid-90's for the past few days which makes it hot, but real estate is hot hot HOT!

We're only 2 days into June and the current activity will tell you everything.

In the past two days, there have been 193 new listings listed, 3 of which have already gone under contract!  Is 3 a large number?  No, it's not.  It's pretty sad compared to some 2004 and 2005 numbers.  However, in a market when people keep hearing that the market is bad, 3 listings going under contract immediately shows you that the market is still there and it's very much active.

In addition, there have been 123 properties that have gone contract Pending with 10 more properties that just went under the Option Period for Inspections.

And just today, the MLS data is showing 96 properties doing a price adjustment and it's only 2:34pm!!  The day isn't over yet, and who knows how many other sellers want to get into the Pending list and do a price adjustment on their over priced property...

Overall, Austin, TX is holding its own and moving right along!

Can you say the same for your market?

That's so nice to hear, Donna.  I've heard that numbers are positive in other markets as well (Florida, Southern California and Arizona, just to name a few).  Let's hope this news hits the airwaves with as much tenacity as the negative ones did.  Maybe then people will be more likely to venture into buying real estate again.

Hi Donna... Temperatures have still been realtively mild here in Big D, but the real estate market is definitely on fire!  Glad to hear it's the same in Austin!

Donna,

Thanks for this information.  I am hoping this is a trend for the entire country.

I know the number of enrollments is up at the real estate school. A recent agency class had over 30 students.  Have not seen a class that size in some time.

There is nothing like a smoking hot RE market. I always check the daily hot sheet and saw this too. It is good to see the market moving again!

This blog is to help educate Buyers, Sellers and even other Realtors across the country.  Each market is different and the way Real Estate is done is different.  Austin Real Estate is completely different than Dallas, California and Florida and everywhere else in between.  Some times there will be other things besides real estate as I like to rant and rave as much as the next!!  Come back often!
