 As a service to Oyster Bay-East Norwich residents and visitors, below is a list of events and things of importance which make our community a nice place to live, work and play.  They are grouped according to clubs and date of events.  There are plenty of activities for an enjoyable late spring and summer days.  

  

OYSTER BAY SUNDOWN SERIES

Thursday, June 4th - LIVE MUSIC OF LOST TIME.  Music of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.  Bandstand/Gazebo (between Town Hall and Post Office), 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.  

Thursday, June 11th - JAZZ FESTIVAL AT OYSTER BAY HIGH SCHOOL.  Celebrate the talented student musicians of Oyster Bay-East Norwich at their end-of-the-year concert.  OBHS, 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. 

Thursday, June 25th - LIVE MUSIC OF CHRIS GOTZENBERG  Hear the sounds of guitarist Chris Gotzenberg and enjoy a picnic on the lawn of the bandstand.  Bandstand/Gazebo (between Town Hall and Post Office), 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. 

Thursday, July 2nd - LIVE MUSIC OF THE BLAGGARDS  This rockabilly/swing band is sure to be a hit for kids and adults alike.  Audrey Avenue- across from Canterbury's, 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Thursday, July 9th-  LIVE MUSIC OF JANINE DiNATALIE  A fun, informative, and exciting performance of music from decades past.  Bandstand/Gazebo (between Town Hall and Post Office), 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. 

Thursday, July 16th-  LIVE MUSIC OF STOUT!   Enjoy the haunting melodies and sweet harmony of sea shanties.  Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the music in the historical garden of the Oyster Bay Historical Society.  Oyster Bay Historical Society, 20 Summit St., 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. 

Thursday, July 23rd-  LIVE MUSIC OF THE OYSTER BAY COMMUNITY BAND.  Enjoy an evening of traditional band music on the steps of Theodore Roosevelt's home.  Bring chairs and a picnic.  Sagamore Hill, 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.  

Thursday, July 30th-  LIVE MUSIC OF STRIKE THE BELL  Live music and house tours will be offered.  Bring a chair and enjoy a picnic on the lawn.  Raynham Hall, 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Thursday, June 4th - ANNUAL MEETING.  All are welcome in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the Main Street program.  An hors d'ouvres reception and live music will be followed in the 2nd hour by a presentation on the work of the program.  Christ Church Parish Hall, 61 East Main Street, 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.

  

THE WATERFRONT CENTER

Sunday, June 7th - 8th ANNUAL BAY DAY

 PLANTING FIELDS ARBORETUM

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT PLANTING FIELDS ARBORETUM.  The Arboretum and Coe Hall are recruiting volunteers to lead groups of visitors on a new hour-long tour of Coe Hall, as well as to assist in the gift shop, gardens, and greenhouses.  Contact Elsa at 922-8670 or eeisenberg@plantingfields.org.

SEWING CLASSES FOR CHILDREN - Classes for children 8 and older will be held at the Christ Church Parish Hall on Mondays at 3:30 P.M. under the instruction of Barbara Genco.  For more information, call Barbara Genco at 922-6706.

DOUBLEDAY-BABCOCK SENIOR CENTER & SENIOR STUFF

CELIA FLOWER SENIOR CITIZEN FOOD PANTRY and SILVER THREADS CLOTHING SHOP.  Food pantry offers a variety of canned goods and non-perishables for those in need of a little extra help, and the clothing shop offers gently used clothing at gentle prices.  Every Wednesday, Doubleday Babcock Senior Center (922-1770), 11:30 A.M. to 3 P.M.- Food Pantry: 10 A.M. to 3 P.M.- Clothing Shop.  

N.Y. PRESCRIPTION SAVER CARD.  New discount card for New York residents age 50-64 or are Social Security Disabled.  Income limit up to $35,000 (single) / $50,000 (married couples not receiving Medicaid).  For more information, call 1-800-788-6917.

PANTRY DONATIONS.  Pantry needs (including supermarket gift cards) are in need for our neighbors and can be dropped off at the St. Dominic Social Ministry office (off the parking lot behind the chapel) or the Parish Office (across the street from the chapel) (922-4488, ext. 1277).    

DRIVERS NEEDED.  Drivers needed to transport neighbors to appointments in Oyster Bay-East Norwich and surrounding areas.  Please call St. Dominic Social Ministry (922-4488, ext. 1277).
