Welcome to all of you. As a relative newcomer to blogging myself, I'm going to give you some advice:

Don't wait to blog until you feel you are an expert on some issue.

A good first blog could be asking a question and requesting answers or advice.

Make a statement and request discussion. I threw out HVCC and got informative feedback!

Comment on the beautiful city in which we live. Talk it up. Encourage visitors to come.

Join a group and post a blog there. These are usually less intimidating to newcomers, more personal.

Relax and have fun.

As you learn, blog about it!

Hi Margo. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I'm teaching a blog class in July in Atlanta and that's exactly the advice I'm giving students - make your first blog a genuine question, it's a great way to get your feet wet.

Sounds interesting, Jackie. There are several of us taking a social networking class with Dave Hall of Listing Solutions to help promote our businesses. Dave got me started about a year ago, and I'm starting to feel more comfortable. I just wanted to let my classmates new to the whole blogging thing, that they do not have to be experts at anything to blog. I've learned so much by reading others' blogs and getting comments on my own. Thanks, Jackie.
