I love being a Realtor. Just LOVE it! Yes, there are ups and down, blah blah blah, but when the ups out weigh the downs... that's a GOOD thing!!
I have been fighting a cold for a few days now and this morning when I woke up and felt like CRAP I finally decided to give in. I laid on the couch for a few hours and watched Serena get beat and then watched part of Federer's match. Good times. :)
I laid there and thought to myself.. SELF: Doesn't it feel great to NOT be thinking about real estate? Oh yeah, feels so good to TURN IT OFF for a while.
Then my phone rang. It was my wife Amanda (also a Realtor with RE/Max Home Connection here in Fort Wayne, IN). She said that during the inspection on one of our pending listings the inspector smelled GAS and stopped the inspection immediately.
I called the owner, had him call the gas company and since I live a few minutes away from the home I told him I would meet them over there. So much for laying on the couch huh? Luckily it was minor and a quick fix so back home I went. Aaah yeah, there's the couch baby.
Ring ring ring. It's another client of mine, he wants to get together tonight to make an offer. YES!!
Okay, still time to lay down... RING RING RING... GRRRRRRRR....
It's my wife Amanda (also a Realtor with RE/Max Home Connection here in Fort Wayne, IN. Oh, did I say that already??). She asks me how I was feeling. I told her LIKE CRAP, what do you need??
Amanda: Well, I just got a floor call from a guy that wants to see Mary's (our Broker) listing over in Ladue Glen. He wants to see it at 5:00. Can you please go with me? (She NEVER goes to a showing alone with somebody she just met)
Me: Ladue Glen? The 6,200 square foot house? The big one? HELL YEAH I'll meet you there at 5:00!!
Well, the guy and his family showed up and weren't interested in the house but we hit it off and are going to help them find a similar home. YES!!!!!
Then we met with our other client and wrote up the offer. It probably won't get accepted but it's a starting point!
I guess the message of my post here is that I LOVE being a Realtor because every single day is DIFFERENT!
I am off to lay on my couch now. Have a good night, I know I did. :)
