Advanced Access Website Upgrade

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with REMS Virtual

I just finished transfering a 3.0 website to a 4.0 website with advanced access.  If you're not familiar with what this means I'll elaborate.  Advanced Acces has been selling their 3.0 websites for years.  Last year they came out with their 4.0 version which is suppose to be more search engine friendly.  If you have a 3.0 website and want to upgraded to the 4.0 version, they can do that for you.  The only problem is that all of the content on your 3.0 site needs to be transfered to your 4.0 site before it goes active or you'll lose it.  If you have a lot of content on your 3.0 website such as community pages, customized pages or customized rosters, this can be quite a task to get transfered over.  Advanced Access will offer to do this as a service but it took so long for them to get to my client's website that he gave up and asked me to do it for him since I customized his 3.0 site.

His website is now finished and we are just waiting for Advanced Access to repoint his domain to the new 4.0 version.  There will undoubtably be some cleanup of broken links and broken images to fix but we were able to get it done much faster than if he had waited for Advanced Access to do it.

If you're interested in doing such an upgrade, just let me know if you need help.

Hi Mindy,

Thanks so much for the heads up. I'm an AA user myself on a couple of sites. Now a question, is there a blog built into the new format?

Hi Lynda,

AA doesn't provide one that I've seen yet, however, you can frame in other blog systems like the one google offers.  It's free and you can check it out at www.blogger.com.

I have several clients who switched over to the 4.0 format, Mindy.  At first, I wasn't a big fan.  But, once you get used to the different way to do things, a whole new world will open up for you.  It does take some getting used to, though.  People just have to be a little patient and I think they'll start liking it, too.

I wasn't either when it first came out.  Soooo many bugs...I'm okay with it now.  There are a few features I like in the 3.0 version though.  The bugs it still has with the advanced editing needs to be worked on but it has come along way since it first came out.

Mindy: It's very generous of you to share your experiences and extend an offer of assistance with the new platform. Cheers,

Trying to find different Advanced Access blogs.  My suggestion would be for your website needs to find another company that completes tasks in a timely manner and produces results as opposed to just sending monthly bills and wasting your time on hold.  Their service and product is awful after the new ownership, too bad I was with them along time, one of the first Brokers in Denver to sign up.
