After leaving Skagway we sailed to Glacier Bay National Park. All of this cruising so far was in the inside passage.Just above is a map of the inside passage.

Let me say of all the cruise destinations, Glacier Bay followed by College Fjord were my favorites. Down below you will find pictures and video I shot. In glacier Bay. The glacier that was closest to the ship is Margerie Glacier. I shot lots of video and pictures(pictures two and six) of this glacier because it was the one that was "calving" into the bay waters. I actually saw this happen but it was always preceded by "a thunder like sound". I do not know if you can see it in my pictures but there were areas of blue ice caused by intense pressure over the many years. The other glacier we saw in Glacier Bay was Lamplugh Glacier-fifth picture(I called this the dirty glacier). Here is a "flip" video! another video and another.

Following Glacier Bay we sailed across the Gulf of Alaska to Prince William Sound and College Fjord. This is where we encountered the ice bergs. Here we saw the Harvard Glacier and Smith Glacier.glacierglacierglacierglacierLamplugh GlacierMargerie Glacier
