It is with great excitement that the Columbia Museum of Art announces a 2009 exhibition, Turner to Cézanne: Masterpieces from the Davies Collection, National Museum Wales - on view for the first time in the United States! National Museum Wales, known for having one of the finest Impressionist art collections in Europe, is sending to the U.S. highlights from its remarkable Davies Collection, an extraordinary group of 19th- and early 20th-century paintings that is renowned for its beauty and quality. The collection is exceptionally strong in Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works and includes masterpieces by, among others, Cézanne, Corot, van Gogh, Monet, Daumier, Manet, Millet, Pissarro, Renoir, Turner and Whistler. Turner to Cézanne features 53 stunning works of art, seen together in the United States for the first time and will travel to only five venues...with the Columbia Museum of Art being the opening venue! This is a must-see exhibit...don't miss out! Visit the Columbia Museum of Art for more information.

Saturday, June 6. Rhythm on the River! The CMC Steel Rhythm on the River Concert Series resumes this Saturday, June 6th with the return of Corey Crowder. Opening the show is Etheridge & Kimpland. Georgia native and current Greenville resident, Corey Crowder might have begun his solo acoustic career by opening for his friends' hardcore bands, but his music's closer to James Taylor or John Mayer. That he survived those early gigs is a testament to the quality of his lyrical insights and the hypnotic effect of his vocals on his records, like 2006's Starting All Over. MTV recognized Crowder's appeal, using several songs on The Real World. This is week #7 of the 10 week music series at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater. Concert is from 6:00-9:00pm and admission is FREE thanks to our presenting sponsors: Agape Senior, Allstate Insurance, C-Anne Able Agency, AT&T, Food Lion, Genesis Studios, Hardee's, Lexington Medical Center, & South Carolina Bank and Trust.
