Article writing is great marketing tool that can establish you as an expert in your field. An article written by you is more meaningful and holds more credence than placing an advertisement.

Deciding what to write about is as easy as thinking about your last job. What questions did your client ask you? Whatever they asked is something they were thinking about right then. It is a timely topic.

Check with your local papers and free magazines. They look for content. There are also  online sources that are constantly seeking new material.

Here are  article sites your can check out.

Thanks. These are interesting and helpful sites. I plan to spend some time reviewing them. I had done so writing in "another" life and have toyed with the idea. Thanks for the nudge. Rhonda Rawlins

Leon and Rhonda - glad to share and nudge

Phyllis - writing doesn't have to be your thing! Honest! Try talking into a tape recorder and then using what you say to write an article. Or have a friend interview and use your answers as the basis. Articles in your local paper make you a local professional. Articles online get you googled so local people can check out your name and get more than just your website - once again, you become the local professional!

Tina - yes I will. Look for it in the next few days. Sorry about the delay in response. My husband was in the hospital with heart issues.

Ohh  Teri - I just read about your husband here - I hope everything is OK.

Thank you so much for these links and the great advice.  You're correct about writing and positioning yourself as the expert. It gives credibility to your work as well.

Hi Teri - I just wrote a short article for our local Resident's Association newspaper - pretty small circulation but it's a start - I'll let you know if they include it in next month's issue.

Hi Teri,
Thank you very much for sharing this information, I have bookmarked this for late night review. (No, I don't have a life). For me, it is a struggle to come up with article ideas.

All you have to do is write about what you know. Really look at what you do from your customer's perspective and you'll find LOTS to write about!

I wrote a general article on Staging for one of my local agencies newsletters last year.  Now I print and distribute it all the time at presentations.

Written material is a great source for explaining what you do and showing others that you are an expert.
