Today we're having rain, another day of rain! The silver lining is that after the rain, Anastasia Island resembles a tropical paradise... everything is green and lush. I can sit on my porch and listen to the waves, smell the salt air, watch the gulls and pelicans fly overhead, and remember exactly what it was that drew me to Florida. Soon the fun starts. Kids are out of school, and families on vacation will invade the beach. This is my favorite time of year. Children splashing and laughing, building castles, burying Dads in the sand, and making memories to last a lifetime. Could anything be better than the memory of those beach vacations? If you've never been on a St. Augustine beach vacation, now might be the time to try it!

I haven't been to St. Augustine in since I was a kid, but remember it as a neat place.
We are having another day without rain......and temperatures in the 90s!

Thanks for the comment, Ann. Come to St. Augustine to visit. It's grown up a lot... many new condos, restaurants, shops, etc. We even have an amphitheater now that gets such talents as Willie Nelson, Little Richard, James Taylor, Leon Russell, and many more. It's come a long way since my original visit in 1961!

Margo ~ I would love to come visit St. Augustine. I am going to Palm Beach for 2 weeks after Christmas and I can't wait for the sun and weather. It doesn't rain as much in sunny Florida as it does in Southern Maryland!
