Since I'm kind of tired today, and I still have a lot to do, we're just going to have a short 10-photo pop quiz to see how much you have learned this year.

I'm even going to make it easier for you.

We'll make it a simple true or false quiz so that you, too, can head on out to start your weekend a little early. Good luck.

Picture 1 - TRUE     FALSE     The plant creating an entrance arch is a bougainvillea (Entranceo archii bougainvillea), one of Professor Doctor Ray's favorites.

Bougainvillea

Picture 2 - TRUE     FALSE      The following picture is a Canon EOS Rebel XSi, Professor Doctor Ray's new toy, the reason why he is tired today but still has lots to do.

Canon EOS Rebel XSi

Picture 3 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of a cement truck, possibly taken while someone was driving back from a home inspection, which meant that he didn't have both hands on the steering wheel. Very dangerous.

Picture 4 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of an eel (Frys electronics eelii) in one of the huge, monster, gigantic aquariums at Fry's Electronics in Vista, California.

Picture 5 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of an alien spacecraft that Vegas Bob took while he was in Area 51 in Nevada.

Picture 6 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of an electric meter that the utility company said needed to have the vegetation cleared off of it within 30 days. The home owner also had the option of letting the utility company prune the vegetation for "just" $250.

Overgrown electric meter and panel box

Picture 7 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of the peace lily (Spathiphyllum peace-in-the-mallii), common to malls throughout the nation. Obviously the peace lily has no effect in malls since malls are anything but peaceful.

Peace lily, Plaza Bonita, National City, California

Picture 8 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of purple ice plant (Plantus purple iceii), common along San Diego freeways.

Purple ice plant, San Diego, California

Picture 9 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of a darned steep roof, very uncommon for San Diego, California.

Steep roof, San Diego, California

Picture 10 - TRUE     FALSE     The following is a picture of Zoey the Cool Cat's ear, taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XSi camera from about 25 feet away with a 300 mm lens.

Darn... you know your plants. I think know I failed the test, but come on they were trick questions! Great photos.

Hi Russel - Interesting quiz... I got most of them but I really did think that alien space craft was real.  Was that a trick question?

6:05pm • #4

I was going to say TRUE to everything, which was mostly write except for your trickery with Latin! And I'm just not sure I buy your explanation of photo five. A "light globe outside Border Books" just sounds like you're trying to create plausible deniability. I know an alien craft when I see one!!!

Hey, Andrea - You didn't like the alien space craft? Or did you not like Professor Doctor Ray, the alien? LOL

Hey, Alan - There's a lot of reading and experimenting to do to understand how that toy works. No wonder it's a big boy's toy.

Hey, Judy - I have so many avocations, of which plants is one.

Hey, Jon - I think Vegas Bob sent it to me. Surely we all trust someone from Vegas, right?

Hey, David - Where the heck did you pick up "plausible deniability" at. Have you been reading recent California Supreme Court decisions or something? LOL

Hey, Rita - This is my quiz, not yours! LOL

I blew that one, but I didn't find any good clues either. I like tests that have clues.
