As the long rays of the late afternoon sun start giving way to the cooler part of the evening, nothing is better than a nice quiet stroll by a peaceful lake. One of my favorite places to go is one of the hidden gems in the Davidson County park system - Radnor Lake wilderness area. Tonight I found these turtles coping the last warm rays of the day...

Hey I love it.  We only have sea turtles here in Hawaii but they are fun to watch too.

Awwwwwwwww that is too cute!  We backed up to a little lake when we lived in North Carolina and we had a lot of them.  My only problem with them was they ate the baby ducks but I guess that is the cycle of life.

How cute!  It must be fun to watch them climbing up on the log.

Love them Turtles!  I had to stop and pick one up from the middle of the road in our subdvision today.  Looks like our annual turtle migration from one side of the road to the other has begun.

Yes those little buggers will drag down a baby duck..  I have seen many a little duck swimming and then disappear from a snapping turtle.

Yes, I agree with you about that. I am not a huge fan of snapping turtles either, but then, they do make a good photo op...

Looks like the turtles are taking a breather after a full day of swimming.  Your shot is true to life, impressive.

We should follow their lead after a long day.  Stroll out to lake and chill out with some buddies. :)

Michael -  I also enjoy the walking paths at Rednor lake. It's an amazing piece of wilderness is a fairly populated area. We can only imagne what the surrounding areas will lk like in the next 50 years.

I've been saving turtles in the road for the last few weeks. i don't know where they are going, but I see a lot of them in the roads. i stop and move them to safer pastures.

Michael,

Very nice photos of the turtles.  I am convinved we should follow their example at the end of the day.  Now, where did the sun disappear today here in Red Lodge?
