Lynda

That's a great picture of the mother out with her gagle. Pretty peaceful looking, but imagine how proud that Mom must be.

I love them!  Don't you just love the mommy and little ones??  I got a video through my screen door of a mommy birdie feeding her little young one this morning. I gotta see how that came out through the screen. :) Thanks for an enlightening morning....

I love it!  The only thing better than seeing the baby ducks is seeing their momma strutting in front of them :)

Hi Lynda, These 2 pictures put a real smile on my face. And the chicks are so cute and reminded me that on Thursday this past week at about 6:00 in the morning I heard this strange little sound and I went looking to see what it was. I was a baby bird on the front edge of an an evergreen tree. It was so cute and it had it feathers sticking straight up on its head. It was not frightened of me and I got up close and I think it might have been the getting ready for its maiden flight. I was going to get the camera and and then-just decided that I would get away and allow nature to takes its course. Of course I now regret I could not share how almost funny it looked with it feathers all askew on its head. ( Bed head came to mind ) Mine and his.  :-)

Lynda

I think baby ducks are definitely the cutest of all baby birds. I have built nesting boxes for them in the wild.

Lynda, that is so cute!  We lived in North Carolina for a couple of years and backed up to a little lake.  I loved watching the baby ducks.  I was not happy with the turtles getting them though.

I can't believe TLW would want to shoot those cute little duckies. And what would she do with them, make an omelette?

I wonder if our duckies are related:

Spring is such a great time with all the new life wandering around. I wonder why humans don't have a specific mating period. Or maybe they do. It's called a day, and there are 365 of them -- LOL.

I had a similar walk last year where this mother duck and family followed me all the way to a local creek, you could tell she was lost and was just looking for direction when she came across me at an open house. (I helped them find a new home that day)
