Okay. Now that I found the right forum to post pics in, (thanks Debbie).

I don't know about anyone else, but I have an infatuation with water. Especially the ocean. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the mystery of what lies below? The awesomeness of a wave crashing into the shoreline? Watching the strong current of a river and not knowing how something could survive in it? The calmness of a pond or lake?I don't know. All I know is I'm addicted to it. Is that a bad thing?

I posted some of these in my other thread but I'll repost them here to start things off...

<<--- Sunset in Maui, HI. One of my favorite pics.

Sunset in Maui with my wife --->>

  <<--- One more from Maui

                                     Puerto Vallarta, Mexico --->>

  <<--- Los Arcos, Puerto Vallarta

Not too far from home... Ragged Point, CA --->>

I have some pics from taken on the Columbia up in WA (in the Tri-Cities) around here somewhere. As soon as I find them I'll add them on to the thread.

Hope you like these. Now lets see yours.

Randy,

Thise are awesome! What camera do you use?

Thanks, Ginger. I had fun taking them.

I use an Olympus C-740 Ultra Zoom. Nothing too special but it's been good to me for quite a few years now. I'm looking to upgrade so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I don't know too much about really getting my shots "picture perfect" (hehheh). I usually give them a little tweak only using Google's Picasa. Very easy to use and upload pics to your computer. If I need to go a little deeper, I attempt it using Adobe Photoshop.

Randy,

Did you use a filter on the Puerto Vallarta shot? The depth of color and hues is amazing!

No, I didn't use a filter. I just got lucky.

We took our kids to PV towards the end of July, beginning of August which is the off-season because of the weather. We lucked out because we only got hit with one storm that came through and that's when I took the pic. You can see the clouds coming in over the mountains. It was early evening and the sun had just gone down so it wasn't quite dark yet. I looked out our window from our room and noticed the colors (I'm a blue freak) and had to get a shot, so I stepped out on our balcony and took the picture. I think I took about 4 shots and this was the best one. All I did was sharpen it a bit out on Picasa.

By the way, please feel free to add you own pics and/or links. I'd love to see what you all have to offer.

Yeah, that's why I had to get that pic. I couldn't believe the colors I was seeing. I had no idea it would turn out the way it did.

Lloyd: Yeah, that Los Arcos pic is one of my favorites. As far as the camera, it has 10X optical zoom capabilities. As far as the speed? Actually, I'm such an amateur at this that I don't even know what speed at took those at? *runs and hides*

Carol: Thanks! Makes me want to travel again as well. Wish I had the time right now.
