The Loss of an Iconic American Brand

By

Another Empty Car Lot in America

GM announced that it will be selling its Hummer division to a Chinese firm, Sichuan Tengzhong. While we are losing a great American brand to a foreign competitor, it could also save over 3,000 jobs. So I have mixed feelings about this.

This is close to my heart, as I worked in the auto industry for 12 years, and my father retired from Ford. So I feel the pain of all the hard working folks who are suffering/worrying right now. My thoughts and prayers are with all you.

Hummer

I have all the faith in the world that we will come out of this financial crises bigger, better, and stronger than ever!

Harrison,

That's tough to see companies we've known as icons in American business go.  On a lighter note I do like your tag liine.  Just answering the phone puts you miles ahead of most.

I also have mixed feelings about it but its probably a move that may save GM, so they have to do it.

Over 2,000 homes sold…..

A sad reality.  Hopefully our government will start helping corporation instead of taxing them to death and forcing business to relocate.  It is such a struggle to justify staying in the US if you are a large corporation.

The sad part is they will make them more affordably with their cheaper labor and sell them back to us for less.
