Feng Shui in New York-Another "Haunting"??

Practicing Feng Shui for so many years in New York, I never know what I'm going to come across next. It can have its triumphs and its challenges. Saturday was a Challenge Day.

Laura Cerrano and I pulled up to an absolutely lovely home in Nassau County Long Island NY. It's actually just the kind of home I would buy if I were looking for one. It was perfectly manicured, and inside had a beautiful layout, a new kitchen and all hardwood floors.

We sat down to discuss why our client had called a Feng Shui Consultant and there were several issues she wanted to address. It seems that she'd read a few books on Feng Shui and was fascinated with it and had wanted a consultation for a long time.

While walking through the home and discussing certain changes we were focusing on, she mentioned an incident that had occurred in one of the rooms. She was working in her office and had "felt" something brush by her. She looked around, didn't see anything and went back to work but shortly after, a family member came in who had also felt SOMETHING.

Over time, several people had mentioned that they had heard footsteps through the house. She had never heard them and after a while, assumed whatever it was had gone. I didn't think much more about it and went on to discuss other changes.

The Blessings in Feng Shui are very powerful....most of my clients can feel a change in the Energy or sometimes even in themselves. Shortly after the home was blessed inside and out, our client and Laura stepped outside to address one final issue while I began to pack up. That's when I heard it.....FOOTSTEPS. Whatever it was hadn't gone.....

I stayed inside and actually watched the floor as I heard them get closer, then the sounds fading and then getting stronger and louder again. I did not at ALL feel threatened by it but to me it almost made a statement "This is MY home."

I debated whether to tell my client. That's exactly one of the things the Blessings are for and should take care of it. Sometimes, however, advanced cures and blessings are needed. I wondered if I should wait and see and stay in close contact.

I struggled with it during the night and by morning had decided she needed to know---I HATED having to tell her but I called her. She didn't sound surprised and said on occasion she still felt things, though never as strong as that one night. She'd already felt Energy changes, she said, from the Consultation and we decided to wait. If she feels anything else, there are ADVANCED TRANSENDENTAL CURES that can be used.

I know many people do not believe in Spirit Energy. They should be happy they have not experienced it. I have on more then a few occasions in different ways and it's unsettling to say the least.

Ghosts or Spirits are NOT something you have to live with. Feng Shui Consultants are trained in having them move on so your space can truly be YOUR OWN.

That's very eerie Carole, and I think the hairs on the back of my neck would raise if that happened to me.

Gary, I kept watching the floor expecting to SEE soemthing to go along with the noise...but nothing! I hope the blessings will help.

Carole - I am a firm believer in spirit energy. I have encountered 'someone' a couple of times while doing BPOs on vacant/abandoned properties. At one point, on a return visit to a property, when I opened the front door I called out, "I'll be gone in a few minutes. I'm not trying to disturb you." I was only there for a brief visit, but as I walked back through the kitchen the water came on. Keep in mind the water was turned off at the street. Spirits are real.

Carole just one time I want to be able to say I experienced something like this.

Carol, What an amazing story and I don't doubt it for a minute. No one wants to talk about these things but they ARE real and they do exist. It's a good thing I'm not eaisly frightened but I did hate having to tell my client that it just wasn't gone as she'd thought.

Bill, If you were closer I'd take you along to a Feng Shui Consultation. I can't say it would happen but I'd love you to hear it from the people it's happening to.

Am I fortunate or unfortunate in not having experienced any specific energy forces around me? Not that I haven't tried, darn it. I've stayed in haunted houses, haunted rooms at haunted hotels. Maybe they know when someone like me actually wants to meet them and stay away. :(

Hi Carole,

I'm of the path that believes that spiritual beings and human beings can happily co-exist in the same home....you know some of my 'Emmeline's House' story, and I have to say that she was one spirit I got to have a fondness for and didn't mind at all that she shared my old house on the bay.

There are malevolent spirits though...I've experienced those as well. Do you think the spirit in your client's house is malevolent in any way?

Carole, that is really spooky. I probably would have been out of there in a second. Glad to know that Feng Shui can take care of spirits and such.

I used to own a store in a very old building that had been a mortuary for a short time in the 1880's. One evening, working late, the radio came on by itself in a room in the basement. The room where the bodies had been kept until burial, back in the day. I went downstairs, without turning on lights, just to see if I could sense or see anything. I had to feel my way down the stairs, it was completely black. Nothing. I flipped on the light, turned off the radio, and went back upstairs. Never happened again...The town was FULL of ghost stories!

Russel, Good question. I love that I can sometimes feel loved ones around me or get some type of message in one form or another. On the other hand, I'm not too fond of these occurances. I don't believe you would be, either. Btw, I've stayed in a few "haunted" places and never felt or saw a thing...the Hotel Del being my favorite :)

Jo, No, I actually don't believe so, I didn't feel threatened...and rarely do. Twice in all this time. I did feel that this Energy was making a statement that it was THEIR house. The footsteps were very loud and very deliberate. We were always taught to be careful in this profession to protect yourself first.

Linda, It works MOST of the time but not ALL of the time. I wish it did always work. I was speaking to another Feng Shui Consultant just yesterday and hearing some of the homes SHE has been in as well....she believes some homes just carry evil energy.

Cheryl, I honestly wouldn't have gone down there without lights! Lots of lights :) I had the occasion once to turn a funeral palour into another type of business and couldn't sit in there with my clients to discuss it until I'd blessed it. It felt completely different after and is now a very successful business!

I believe this Carole and have had a similar experience, as I'm sure I have already shared with you. I do not/did not feel threatened either, but it is a strange thing when you first encounter it.
