If you leave a comment, Russel will visit your blog and comment. All of my inspections include a free tutorial on how to search for product recalls on any product over which the Consumer Product Safety Commission has jurisdiction.

Since I offer several different types of inspections to meet the different needs, wants, and goals of different people in different circumstances, some of my higher-priced inspections involve me doing the recall research for my busy Clients and setting them up to receive all recall notices in the future.

One of my recent inspections found a refrigerator recall by Jenn-Air. Most home inspectors, including me, normally don't inspect refrigerators, but if a Client wants me to do something, and is willing to pay for my time, I'll do it -- if it's legal, ethical, and in their best interests, and if I'm physically and mentally able to.

The March 2009 recall notice on the refrigerators named in the title can be found here.

ActiveRain members who would like to check on recalls themselves, and sign up for future recall notices, can find a similar tutorial right here.

Recall...now there is a thought...don't recall hearing about any...and guess we all should get a heads up...come on out here in January and you won't have to worry about how the refrigerator works..just stick your nose out the front door...!

Hey, Andrea - The global economy makes it more and more important that people are aware of recalls. Just look at the pet deaths last year due to bad pet food from China, all of the toys recalled in the past year due to lead paint - guess where they were manufactured - and the infant milk recall -- you know where the milk came from. As someone famous recently said, "It's going to get worse before it gets better." By subscribing to the CPSC recall notices, you can get recall information before it hits your local newspaper or television, and not all recalls even make it to the newspaper or television.

Hey, Fernando - I've been called worse names than "detailed." LOL

Hey, Roy - See my comment above to Andrea.

Hey, Caren - When ActiveRain has its first International Convention, all the rockers, rollers, and rulers can get together for a margarita.

Hey, Sally - Hmmmm. Russel the Red-Nosed Home Inspector? LOL

Hi Russel....I'm sure going the extra mile has served you well.  I love detail oriented people, they help any transaction go so much smoother.  I would use you if I were just a little closer ;-)
