I wrote my first blog last summer. Who knew it would be summer again before I tried again? Let's get the "who I am" out of the way.
I am a mother first and foremost. My daughter has been a part of my office since I opened my doors. She has been at every event and if you get a brochure from my office she probably put the label on it. As she turns 9 this summer it amazes me how much she has grown. Thankfully I still have another 9 years of parenting, but I am proud of the young lady she has grown into.
I am a farm girl. I grew up on the family farm and was introduced to the business world at a young age. My grandparents, Joe and Helen Kovis, moved to Pasco around 1955. They homesteaded the family's first 100 acres, later buying an additional 80 acres. My parents, Jack and Diana Kovis, planted cherry trees and eventually took over farming all 180 acres. My parents passed away in 2003 suddenly and I took over the farm along with my brother and sister.
I am a business owner. In 2007 I opened my Allstate office in Pasco, WA. With my previous experience in insurance, finance, sales, lending and management I thought that this was the way to combine what I had learned to best help others. My goal has been to have my office be a place where my customers feel comfortable.
I am a community member. The farm has supported the local 4-H’ers at the Benton-Franklin County Fair for many years. We have bought pigs, sheep and rabbits. My Allstate office is a sponsor for the Sun-Devils Baseball team and also a sponsor for Pasco High sports. I am an active member of the Greater Pasco Chamber of Commerce and am currently serving on the board of directors. My family is also a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kennewick.
I hope that most people see me as their friend. Someone they can trust and turn to for advice. I am a horrible insurance salesman, but I am great at explaining, teaching and offering protection.
