WORDS play a big part in determining an outcome of a situation and can greatly impact how another person is perceived.  In person, the attitude of a person and the behavior that goes along with it can surely give us an idea on how a person's is. The demeanor and personality of a person will determine what we believe to be true. Okay, some can really play it off with actress/actor abilities although sooner or later the true colors of a person's mind eventually shines through.

What we say and how we say it can depict the tone of a conversation and give us a look into another's soul.

WORDS that are typewritten will play a big part in how the writer wants to be perceived.   Blogging is a way to network and connect with another peer or the consumer. Writing a bunch of words vs. writing with a bit of transparency, shows a bit of the writer's personality; therefore giving the reader something to possibly identify with.

How we write and how we write it can depict the tone of a conversation and give us a look into another's soul...not quite as quickly...but eventually.

So, it seems safe to say that meeting one face to face (in person) will give us a better idea of a person than through the typewritten word although a person strikes that keyboard with a bunch of words.....that affect many of us and finally give us a look at the person whom we "thought" we had gotten to know.

WORDS that affected a lot of readers will be read over and over again. It can and will leave a lasting impression. Sometimes....words will not be forgotten and cannot be taken back.

A leader does not push their views on their followers with an ulterior motive of converting. A teacher does not  push their religion or political views on their class and demand they agree ....lest they suffer the consequences.  A good human being does not look down upon another as less than, for their choice in job or profession or by the amount of money they are making.

MORE THAN WORDS

A good human being KNOWS that another person's worth comes from...... inside.

P.S. Inspired by...Carol Culkin

It's always harder to convey with just words than when we meet face to face as so much is conveyed by body language, tone, facial expressions, etc.

Hi Sally, today I had a phone conversation that would have been much better in person, however it turned out well, mostly because we both expressed our concerns and genuinely wanted the best outcome.  Being real makes all the difference in communication.

Hi Sally a beautiful well written post and I love this

A good human being KNOWS that another person's worth comes from...... inside.

boy is this ever true. How can one person feel superior than those they know.  We all stand on the shoulders of others .
to say nothing of the fact that everyone has a purpose great or small....great in the eyes of God.As for words you can tell ( and you are one ) some of the bloggers words spill right out of the heart.  I really feel that comes across. A reader can tell.

This is a nice post, and that words are powerful and should be meted out carefully and with compassion!

June: Doesn't everyone know this? :) I do not understand the superiority stuff either. Don't want to if you want to know the truth ..... and yes, the words DO spill from the heart and the ones that don't....we do see. :)

Richard: Surely YOU understood the meaning :)

Thanks Martin. :)

Hmmm I could write a whole Post, or a dozen on the picture you used for your graphic, but I'll stay focused on "the words" :)  Hiding behind the keyboard appears to be the behavior of many people.  You are right that when we have met someone, or spoken to them we have a better idea of who they really are.  But as that isn't always possible, it would seem a prudent person wouldn't belittle others online.  Imagine if you wanted to make money "teaching" others, yet you just told at least half the class that they were not worth it...who then would hire you?  The remaining half...no...maybe a few as there are always a few that are outside the norm.

Sally - Wow. I iinspired you? Thanks for the shout out. I must say that it's just a shame that some people do not seem to have a filter to keep their thoughts from pouring out of their brain and spilling out into words. A person can lose a great deal of respect from others jin just one instant just by having poor judgment in expressing and communicating their thoughts.

BTW. I have made it a point to stop commenting on political and religous posts here on AR and I hope others will too. These have come to be taboo subjects in any social setting. I don't know about you,  but I often find some of these posts to be antagonistic.

Kathy: lol....wonder what those bunch of ideas would be???  Yeah...I've had enough of the anonymous commenter and the rest of the junk flying around. Oh, goodness..you mean that's happening? Oh...I wrote something along those lines...kinda sorta huh? In any case, you wanna see one hard working minimum wage + tips earner...it'd be my daughter....paying her own way through college, driving an Infinity and married to a waonderfu soldier :)

Carol: Are you kidding me?  Somehow I got lost reading you along the way and found you again lol. That's been one enlightening way to 'remember where we came from'. lol ...a filter indeed. It's called....thinking first. Oh...that didn't work lol. Agreed. I have lost respect for many (most don't realize)  I have long since made it a point to not get into it. Causes ill will and upset stomach :)  Besides, I believe in fairies all around :)  And you're right...they are.

Hey Vegas Bob...of course! At the very least...lunch :)

Hi Sally... it's ironic, but words sometimes hide the real intent that is behind them.  I like your post very much.

Steve: Ya think? I do believe I get my point across though .... and the real intent is there....awareness of how one can affect others and their perception about them :) I liked this too.

I agree.

But it seems that you need to be EXTRA carefull in getting a message across when using Email.

So many things can be misinterpreted if you're not careful about your selection of words, and the message you're sending.

The art of conveying thought through words is, in some instances, almost a lost art.  Blogging has certainly helped to spur this art back to life.  I have found that, more often than not, the way a person writes is very similar to the way they speak - minus the audible intonations.  I always enjoy reading different articles and trying to imagine what that person's voice sounds like.  And when that curiosity gets to be too much ... I pick up the phone.  ;)  Who knows ... you might be next!

You can try as hard as you like, but you will never hide who you are forever. You can play the role, but eventually the true person underneath will creep out.

Being a very (extremely) quiet person by nature, I find people probably know me better by what I do and what I write rather than by what I say.  I don't say much, especially if there is more than one person in the room.

Ralph: You're right about that....but it not only goes for email..it's everything we write. Being mindful of the "tone" of the words helps.

Carol: I do believe that many are whom I thought...just as in real life...people aren't always as they seem too. And one instance can surely turn the whole situation of perception around. :)

JL: Yup...It's a continuous learning lesson for me.  It's amazing what the 'words' convey on an online surrounding and what it can spur from some people.

Irene: I used to be quiet. I used to think the power of the pen was mightier than my mouth. I found that what success I gained inside came burbling out ....and it's pretty coincidal (for the written and spoken words)

Sally, I often wonder if people realize the impact of what they write....it is HUGE.  It can make or break a deal or a friendship.  I believe in writing from the heart and never putting something down you might one day regret.  They also, as you so often say, are our legacy.  I want to leave a good one behind.
