Most of the time FHA the best available mortgage financing for owner occupants. There is a minimum cash requirement of 3.5%. First time buyers can qualify for the currently available $8,000 tax credit for settlements that take place by the end of November of this year. Streamlined FHA 203(k) financing can include up to $35,000 of home improvements in the initial mortgage loan amount. All buyers should be pre-approved for financing before submitting a contract.
