I live very close to the San Diego River as it runs through the center of Mission Valley.
Not only does the River run through Mission Valley, but so does the San Diego Trolley.
So it's easy for me to just walk a couple of blocks, catch the San Diego Trolley, and go virtually anywhere in the County using the Trolley, the Coaster, and Amtrak.
Since we have so much daylight during our summer hours, a few days ago I took the Trolley down to the San Diego River Nature Area for a very early morning walk along the River. There I found a group of mallard ducks having fun in the water, especially the following one. She was spending most of her time "bottoms up."
Cute. I love to watch ducks here on the lake too. And the summer of 2007 I took my first trolley ride on YOUR trolley. Where we live there are no buses (except school buses of course), no taxi cabs, no train, nada, nothing... if you want to get somewhere you walk or drive. We took the trolley to "Old Town" in San Diego and I had a blast and found the best lickerish I have ever eaten. I love to visit San Diego and hope to get back there soon.
Hey, Wanda - When the ducks first saw me, then all came swimming, but when they realized that I didn't have anything to feed them (and we're not supposed to feed the ducks in the nature preserve), they went back to bobbing for whatever was under the water.
Hey, Terry - I think I stayed watching them a little longer than I planned. They were a lot of fun.
Hey, Patricia - I'm a man of stories and pictures - LOL.
Hey, Tammy - With the Sprinter now being open from Oceanside to Escondido, all we need is a rail system from Escondido south and we'll have a full square in the County. I haven't ridden the Sprinter yet, but I have a feeling I will be riding it next month around the eighteenth or so.
Hey, Dianne - Duckies might be one of the few creatures where "the better side" is still kind of cute.
Hey, Steve - Hope all is well up there. By the way, have you ridden the Sprinter yet?
