So many buyers are instantly drawn to the prices in the Bimini Bay townhouse community which is located in Davenport, FL.  They see the beautiful townhouses online and most wonder why they are so cheap! You know how the saying goes: If it seems too good to be true it probably is and this couldn't hold more true for Bimini Bay in Davenport.

The Bimini Bay community was supposed to be a resort community that would stack up with the likes of resort neighborhoods like Regal Palms and Bahama Bay.  It was supposed to have a water park, day spa, gym facilities and many other cool toys but when the market turned many buyers started backing out of their contracts and just not buying all together, this brought construction to a very quick halt!

Hi Erica, I'm actually closing on onme of these next week. The buyers have been made aware of the issues and still want it. I went to Bimini last week and they had just had a fire that burnt the office at the entrance to the ground. The guy I spoke to said it was arson. He also mentioned that supposedly they just received final permitting to finish the water park. Personally I don't see that happening. We'll have to wait and see.

Please tell the buyers to reconsider. The water park will NEVER be done because the Owner doesn't have any money. He is a crook and is renting the units to anyone and everyone. I honestly wouldn't live there even if they gave me the unit for free. I worked here and we had break-ins every week.

I was one of the original purchasers of a townhouse at Bimini Bay many years ago. Their troubles started long before the market tanked. The owner/developer and the HOA are responsible for the whole mess. They care only about lining their pockets with money collected from owners. Instead of being a short term, money making resort, the complex is now a long term slum that rents to anyone who will pay the rent. I lost tons of money on my townhouse and most of it went into the owner's bank account.
