If anyone here doubts the value of blogging or the power of this Active Rain forum, think again. For the second time this month, a reporter has called after reading one of the AR blogs. It has happended to others here as well--and probably more frequently. The first call came from Glenn Roberts at Inman News regarding the relisting of properties to make them appear new.

This morning's call came  from a local news reporter as a result of a short sale blog made 10 days ago (is that approaching a long tail?). He is very concerned about the glut of condo conversions in San Diego and the young buyers who are going underwater financially. It is a legitimate concern. The conversation also turned to Option ARMs, and I forwarded Mark Flander's AR blog from this morning regarding that very issue. I expect Mark will be soon receiving a call.

I will be speaking with this reporter later and have a few questions of my own, including: What link led him to the Active Rain blogs? I will share the results.

I've probably seen at least a half a dozen instances in the last couple weeks where members blogs were quoted in mainstream real estate articles.  Yes the mainstream media is definetly taking note of ActiveRain as an informational source which gives them a view inside the "real" real estate industry.

The reporter came by our office today and taped an interview re short sales. I asked him how he found my blog. He just grinned and said, "I have my ways."

Real estate is local, local, local. Blog about what you know and you will be found. The search engines never sleep.
