I really enjoy blogging...especially here on Active Rain. Within the past couple of weeks I have really started looking into doing "Video Blogs". My video blogs have been so effective that it is hard to come back to AR and do "regular" old text blogging. I have several other blog platforms that I use such as TRULIA and BLOGGER (Which by the way allows video). In addition to those I am able to post the video blogs all across the internet. Sites like Myspace and Youtube rank your blog so high that it is hard to deny the power of it. The more I do it the less I want to use AR.

Now someone correct me if I am wrong but I don't see anywhere to post videos through our blogs on AR! The combination of text and video Horse is a POWERFUL tool. I have had other Rainers tell me that their listings that were posted on AR will show up in Google over many other search results. That is JUST TEXT! If you are familiar with SEO and what Google looks at to rank sites then you will know that video has a soft spot in the heart of Google. Imagine putting video tours and blogs on Active Rain! NOW THAT IS POWERFUL

My video blogs are sometimes showing up on the FIRST PAGE within 30minutes of posting. You can't deny the power of that. I have also done some fairly generic tags for those blogs and STILL they are showing up top. With that being said, "ACTIVE RAIN.... WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO CATCH UP??"

Thanks so much for the comment. I actually have a MACbook and it has a simple program in there. It took a little "figuring it out" BUT I am having fun with it. I want to start promoting neighborhoods. I just did a TEST video blog on Lennox Village in Nashville and it's on the first page!!! I am going to take a video camera around to some other neighborhoods and do the same thing. It will help you look like the authority on that area:)

Stephen - In some ways you are right, They could make it a little easier to insert your video, however, I've been inserting video into my Activerain blog for over a year. Really all you have to do is download the video to youtube, take the Html code from the youtube video, and insert it into you active rain blog post. It seems a little complicated, but it doesn't take much time.

An and Larry, Thanks for the info! I had no idea. I thought that I had seen video content before but I couldn't figure it out. Now it is just a matter of time before one of us Blogs on "How to" use video on AR!!! Ready...Set....GO!

Stephen - Great idea on video about a neighborhood. I have seen video on AR, so knew that it could be done. Now I just have to get a move on and start creating some. I will look at some of yours for more ideas.
