OK I have been working on a deal. I have the buyer and they wrote up a contract for a home in Coral Springs. Things were great. The have great credit, he is a federal agent and other things.
It took us a while to find the right house as you are aware from previous post. But once we found the right house it was smooth sailing. I was there for the inspection, since they are in another state. I sent the file to the title company and to the Mortgage broker.
The house was no short sale or foreclosure. It is not in an HOA, so we wouldn't be held up with an estoppel letter ( which always seems to take so long). So my thought was, this should be smooth sailing!
Well boy was I wrong. The buyers are frustrated, the sellers are frustrated, the listing agent, title company and myself included. You see we were suppose to close on June 1. Today is June 11, so we are 10 days over.
The mortgage broker never answers his phone, when he does he gives some lame excuse as to why he didn't. Says the file is almost done and we shoudld be able to close within 2 days. And he has been giving this answer since last week.
Says he is a preferred lender with this particular bank, if he is I wonder what happens to those who are not..... I call everyday and I am sure when he sees my number he must grunt. But the problem is that he doesn't pick up the phone. Doesn't return the call, I call the office and no one can help because they are not working on the file.
I can't seem to understand why it is taking so long in underwriting and it seems like everyday is the same thing, we should have it tom. Tommorrow comes and no file.....
Are you having this same problem? Am I losing my mind? Should it be this hard on a regular deal? I don't think so and I am not sure how much longer the sellers are going to take this!

Jeannette,
Is there a way you can go around this bozo? Who's his boss? Or does anyone in your office (the broker perhaps?) have some pull w/this lender to find out what is going on?
Is this the lender's reputation? Because if it wasn't before, it is now.....and personally, I know I would not waste any time making all of my associates/new customers/etc aware of this......it's pinheads like this clown who make this business even harder than it has to be.
I'm sorry you are going through this.....sending hugs your way!
