Motivational Power Quote

Understanding Fear

"Half our fears are baseless;

the other discreditable."

Christian Bovee

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Understanding fear . . . .

Fear is false information appearing real.

Half of our fear is either baseless or false.

Fear can be based on incomplete information or misunderstanding the information we have.

Fear can come from intentionally being threatened or pressured for the others person gain, a good example would be in negotiations.

When you sense fear; mentally step back from the situation for a moment and analyze the feeling determined what causing the feeling and if it creditable or is it baseless.

If it baseless the fear will pass in a moment, if it's real determine the best methods to handle it.

In either case you are handling the feeling and not carrying the baggage.

Hi Bob

There is fear in the negotiating process and most of it is false.

Thanks for your comments.

As I understand the word of God....the "Fear of the Lord" is defined as simply respect for
Him as Creator and the abilities He has to bless or let us get cursed in our lives....

I pity the person who actually FEARS God...because God is love.....

And...."Perfect love casts out fear...."

I think you said it best, "Fear is false information appearing real".

Not only is fear something we create, but even if we fail, the event is then in the past.

Lou, What it comes down to is reevaluating how much ego has to do with your everyday life...

I always tell my kids the only thing they need to fear is fear it self.

Lou, that's very true.  There's nothing to fear, but fear itself.  I like to think of it as just a figment of my imagination.

Hi Hannah

Financhal fears are real, the best course of action is to do the best you can with what you have everyday.
