Kay Van Kampen CRS GRI ABR Broker/Owner Springfield Mo Real Estate was absolutely right. The first two days were difficult. It was also not the best weather, and I spent the entire time stressed and checking my e-mail via my cell phone. The third day I felt guilty, but it was definitely better. The fourth day was a BLAST. The fifth day, I was dreading going home, feeling that I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.
We had a blast. The campground wasn't even 50% full, and we were one of the first people there. We set up the tent and our canopy, parked the boat, (it was raining, so we couldn't go fishing right away) set up the dog tie-outs, and made some killer good food.
We were nervous, because we had never taken Shiloh and Conan somewhere like this before. They were great! They even were good in the boat!

Fishing was fun, but we didn't luck out this time. Lots of panfish and small crappie. The slots for crappie on Mantrap are currently only 5 crappies, 10 inches or larger. I didn't catch any crappies THAT big! I caught lots of tiny panfish, and one super nice bass!

We had a blast. I ate more Smores than I think I've ever had (Smores are my weakness...), fished lots, played in the lake with the dogs, cooked great meals, played all kinds of card games, and witnessed a nice catch from our campground neighbors....

My favorite part? My usual game of "Floats or Not", where I take everything that is in the boat and put it in the water to see if it floats or not. I usually do this when the fishing is not so great and my ADD kicks in. :) I was amazed to see that my Old Navy sandals float! Nick asked me what I was doing, taking a picture of it, and I politely informed him that it was art, and to leave me alone. Then I laughed. :) So here it is, titled "My Big Catch". Enjoy, and remember to take a few days off now and then!

sounds like you had 3 days of true recovery time... good for you... looks like the family had fun!
