Last weekend, I posted a blog called, How Was Your Weekend, and I think I'm going to continue it as a weekly blog.  If others would like to join in, the more the merrier!

How was my weekend?  My mom came into town for a couple of days, so it was full of activity after activity as things never stopped, except for nap time!

Part of my weekend was captured here in my first Speechless Sunday blog playing Peek 'a Boo from behind the couch.

We started the morning at 7:30am sitting outside blowing bubbles... My mom will probably kill me for posting this picture as she had just gotten out of the shower and wasn't "put together" as she likes to say.

Then, Alyssa gave us a small hint that she wanted to go swimming. She didn't understand why water didn't just come out of the hose by holding it over the pool, but she carried it about 20 feet to get there.  Yes, it was HOT by 8am!!  So, I filled the pool.

Here's Alyssa having her first popsicle, however, she thought it tasted better after being dunked and held in the water.  Before this day, she was always afraid of Popsicles and wouldn't try them.  On this day, I called it "ice" and she took it right away.  Psychology of a child...

My husband has decided he likes golf and for the past couple of years, he's really been getting into it. MiMi decided to buy Alyssa her first set of golf clubs so she could play with Daddy.

And this was all before 10am just on Saturday!!

Then, Some friends of ours who just bought a new house in Lake Pointe, the gated community section called "The Pointe" asked us over, and Alyssa decided to take everything to the big-girl pool and have a blast there!

Oh boy has she's grown so much! Looks like her day (and yours) went really well!

As for me, I've quit working Sundays this year. So, I'm able to just hang out with the family. I've been taking Sunday afternoon naps too (something that my husband takes over for a while with Boomer). I love Sundays now.

Very cute Donna. I usually do not work on Sundays. ith my son graduating high school on Friday June 12th, I was very busy all last week and was not able to do this I do daily. Today I actually went out and previewed homes. This is something I do weekly. But next Sunday...I plan on taking a well deserved nap. Thanks for the post! Have a great one.

How fun, Donna.  I was fortunate enough to have my grandmother in town and staying with us to celebrate her 86th birthday.  She is actually my husband's grandmother but is really the only one I have known for the last almost 20 years (when I first started dating my husband) and the only grandmother I have who is still alive.  She's spry, loving and has always treated me very well.  It was fabulous.

Donna,

I like your new thought of posting a how was your weekend blog. This gives me an added avenue to talk about myself.

I've always loved the cute pigtails you sport in Alyssa's hair. Super cute.

Your mom & Alyssa in the 1st photo... what are their feet on? Is that a deck?

Eric, There was no relaxing as she was on the move the entire time!

Loreena, I haven't worked weekends in years, except for relo buyers when they don't have another choice. It feels great to have family time.

Shelley, I need a nap on more days than just Sunday! LOL

Heather, Sounds like you had a nice weekend too.

Greg, Or you could talk about your kids!!  Alyssa needs a haircut and the pig tails are the only thing that keep it out of her face right now, but they are cute, aren't there!  If you look at the picture where she's eating the popsicle, you'll see a couple of steps behind her. THat's what their feet are on in the first picture.

Donna - My twins were away all weekend at a Girl Scout encampment , so I was able to catch up on House work a little. The restful part was that I didn't have to drive anybody anywhere , no big dinners to cook and I actually had time to go out and shop for shoes w/o any kids. What a blessing !

HELLO DONNA!  Oh aren't they such busy little people!  I love your new post idea!  It's hot here by 8am too - and most of the weekend was spent hanging out with my 8-year old in the pool listening her perspective on life and friends! -- Gabrielle
