Surviving The Hits With Competition

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Several REALTORS and Stagers have told me over time they are purely in a service oriented business and do not want to compete but just take business as it comes. While service is good, there is nothing to fear about competition. Think of competition as "fun."

Big BoneComing from someone who has fun playing intramural team basketball and individual running races what interaction provides you is

Surviving The Hits With Competition.

Competition allows you to know the journey has ebbs and flows. You are ahead. You are behind. A great day. A lousy day. On top of the world. Down in the dumps. BUT, you get up to fight again and throw another punch. It is thrilling with victory and avoiding that agony of defeat.

Hits are normal in life. You can get past them. And always remember YOU are truly the biggest dog out there.

Gary...

I thrive on competition ...it is fun and I like to win, but it isn't about money to me ... it's about being the best!

Gary, great photo...I always try to stay on top...basketball isn't my forte being 5 foot. 1/2 inches tall.  That doesn't keep me from trying though.  Age is catching up more than height.  But, one of my friends just said that I will continue to jump in the deep end even though I can't swim until I die.  That much is true!!!!

Healthy competition is exactly what makes the industry interesting to me. I don't shy away from and I feel better when I know it's around.

One nice thing about having a blog for a while is that when clients contact you, there is no competition. They already know you and are ready to work with you.

Gary, for many years I thought I was not competitive, I was shy (oh say it ain't so), but after becoming a realtor, I realized that is the farthest thing from the truth.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, yep, I am the BIG DAWG! Now I am ready to go out there and git em. Thanks!

Gary

I am reminded of the old "Roy D. Mercer"  cassette tapes on this one ..... How big an ol boy are ya?

Seriously you are right . I wouldn't be any fun at all without the competition. Just go to work. Go home.

Gary I find that competition has dropped out of favor on the thinking that there are no losers. Competitive sports taught me many valuable lessons including respecting my self and others, integrity etc. The success of our modern economy its benefits to society are based on competition.

Gary,

Competition is good for all of us, IMHO.  We just need to remember to get back up when we are knocked down.  Refuse to stay down and you will thrive.

Hi Gary, Competition keeps us sharp and continually striving to do better. I think anyone resting on their laurels and "not competing" will soon be passed by.  Win some - lose some - figure how how to win more :-)

Cute picture Gary!  Competition helps us strive to become better and more creative and without it, we probably wouldn't see the same quality of services provided.

Gary,

It is true, fear not competition, competition can be your best friend...it is the belief in self that you need to cultivate.

Competition is what pushes us to do our best and running with the big dogs can really boost our confidence.  Great photo, looks like this guy doesn't take no for an answer!

I think if they don't compete, they won't be in a service-oriented business much longer, or any business for too long!

This business is all about service. If you don't take care of your clients, you will loose them to a Realtor that will. That is why I enjoy this business. I am happy to make new friends and help newcomers find their way around. If your vocabulary does not include stellar customer service, you may not be around very long. Word of mouth is very powerful!
