The banking industry as a whole asked for a bailout.  They got it.  Then, they didn't like the terms.  Now, a number of them are paying back the TARP money because they don't like the intrusion and inspectiion of their business practices.  Hmmm.....Now, they want to keep the bad debt rather than sell it off to the government, who is quite willing to take it on.  What do you think they are working to keep quiet?  Perhaps that life wasn't that bad in the first place? Or, as some of them are professing, they can sell it off at more profit than the government can.

Well, then, why didn't you do that before you cried "Wolf" in the first place?  Just asking.

Suzanne, There is "Something rotten in Denmark", if you know what I mean. There are some stipulations in the Obama stimulus plan that may want to make us shudder in out boots. I really do not feel that the Government needs to be in the banking, insurance, and car building industries...

Hi Suzanne~ WHY anyone would willingly let the government have any more control than necessary in their business or their life is beyond me....it's just can't be worth it in the long run.

Strange how this whole thing came about isn't it? I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens with all of this.

Amazing how all the stimulous money isn't really being used. Then why in the world aren't we putting it back? I heard that only 10% of billions from the first stimulous package has been used. Then darn it put the money back and don't speak of a 2nd stimulous package.

This country and the tax payers doesn't need more debt.

Lori, I couldn't agree more.  The institutions who received the first round decided that there were too many strings attached. Wow! All that free money wasn't quite as free.  Let's put the money where it will create wealth...real estate and then get rid of HVCC.......
