That is some awesome bit of eye candy. I just read five posts without a single picture on 'em. You've saved my sanity (LOL). ;-)

Hey Julie - Great photos... Is the lighthouse still in operation?  There are some lighthouses in Michigan that have been turned into B&Bs.  Always looking for unique properties with unique stories - do tell.

Ryan,

The story of this light house is long and I have attached a link to explain it.....this property, like Cumberland, will not be developed.

Julie - there is something to be said about island life, whether in the tropics or the coastal islands of the southeast.

Leesa,

There are several lighthouses you can visit here......we are an historical area.

Don,

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words......good to hear from you.....hope it is not as hot there as it is here

Mike,

Being able to go just go and not have to do anything but put gas in jetskis and pack something on ice is the best vacation of all. No packing, no sleeping in hotels........only takes about 30 - 40 minutes from dock to get to these particular islands.

Caron,

This is how the beaches on Cumberland, Jekyll and Sapelo appear -vacant -  not like Miami and Manhattan and Hermosa Beach...........these are state and federally protected areas......it is wonderful.  Thank God someone had the foresight not to develop everything.

Tony and Darcy,

It was a well earned day off.....this is my home not a place I vacation so I think sometimes I forget how wonderful it is.....

Gary,

Thanks.  It is a cool lighthouse.
