What is the price of gas in your area of the world? I just paid $2.71 on a fine Sunday afternoon. Everyone is concentrated on the price of gas and the economy overall. Are you cutting back on your gas consumption or not? Please share the price of gas in your area this morning so other people may be informed around the country.
Gas in Texas has been rising .10 cents a gallon every week for about 6 weeks now. Way to go Barrack.
$2.75 is what i saw yesterday, if it stops raining here i will use my motorcycle a lot more, that way I can give my gas guzzler a break. It seems that prices came up quite rapidly once again.
We live in Massachusetts where it's around $2.59 at local gas stations. Filled up in Connecticut yesterday for $2.75 per gallon. I don't cut back on gas for work, but we've definately cut back on the little "road trips" that we like to take because of the higher costs.
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Here in Prospect Ct, the local gas station was showing $2.73 at the pump this morning. I saw a segment on the Today show this AM and it was focused on gas. Their theory for the rise is the shortage that's being set up by the refiners due to low demand. Refineries are off about 10% from their same output last year and are trying to maintain the same profit margins, so up goes the prices. Only in a democracy where politicians have a blind eye.
Harry - I gassed up yesterday for $2.54 / gallon for regular unleaded. If I would have gone to my grocery store and used my frequent shopper card I could have gotten $2.47/gal. It has been steadily climbing but I think it will fall again - speculation seems to be driving it again like last year. Oil consumption is lower than it has been in a while, and our reserves are huge. Unless government steps in and adds more taxes to gas to force us to drive tin cans gas will come down again.
my 2 cents
Brian.
Gas in Hickory NC is around $2.54 a gallon for regular.
Looks we are the lowest so far.
$2.84 here in Michigan...and I'm not sure who said it but please don't get our politicians involved. I'll take the free market any time.
