In this example I would like to show Realtors and homeowners the importance of staging a master bedroom to have the appeal of being a room to retreat to after a long day. The master bedroom is the prestige room for the buyer. A private retreat that says this is my castle and this is where I come to relax and rejuvenate.

All I did was add items to give the room a grown up appeal, a feeling that the person that sleeps here is important. This property is for sale at 39 Tecumseth Heights, Tottenham.

Investment, minimal.

Impact, priceless.

Hi Michelle,  Love what you did with this bedroom!  The black tables and headboard give it a sophisticated feeling.

Very grown up and much more appealing. Master bedrooms can make or break a sale.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Diana, I love the black headboard and end tables too. It really does give the room a sophisticated look. I have just recently added these pieces to my rental inventory as I do quite a bit of work in country estate homes and this look works for the area.

Hi Lori, I agree. So many homeowners will spend all their design budget on a chlids room at the expense of the master bedroom. I am one person that believes that the adults in the house appreicate coming home at the end of the day to a master bedroom that relaxes them and invites them in to rejuvenate for the next day.

Great staging job Michelle.  You gave buyers a reason to linger!!!

Hi Sharon, that's the response we want as stagers. Buyers lingering in the rooms talking about how their bed would fit right in, how much they love the feel of the room and my favourite....oh this is exactly what I always pictured my bedroom would look like.

Michelle, You're not kidding that investment IS priceless....I could hardly believe I was looking at the same room.  You always make it sound so easy but a lot of thought and hard work went into that transformation.

Hi Carole, thank you for the compliment on my work. As soon as I saw this room I realized its potential as a master. The buyer is the one putting the money down on the house so I think it is wise to present the master in a "smart" way. Sophisticated but approachable.

Hi Kathy, thank for the feature! I love writing my "all I did was" series". That is how I explain it to my clients and so the writing comes naturally.

Hi Michele, thanks for dropping in to see my master. I often wonder if we should start a post so we stagers can show our master bedrooms. What would we see! Would it be like the story of the shoe makers son who had no shoes or would we see staged rooms?

Hi Leesa, glad you love the room. It really is night and day isn't it? I did have the walls painted CC-90 Natural Linen to tone down the mint green that was there originally. That really set the colour pallette for the room. I love black so it was a natural with the natural linen colours in the bedding and the walls.

Hi Kimberly, I tend to like crisp definition in a room or in clothing. Big fan of black, white and dark brown combinations. As you say it lends a sophisticated air to a room.

Hi Debra, thanks for dropping in to see my work. The room definitely has appeal now whereas before it appeared as if students lived there. Now it looks like a grown up room and is defined by the strong bed and artwork.

I really love the approach of showing the homeowner what they deserve, from their master bedroom.  You are right, so much money spent on every themed thing available for a kid's room, and the master looks forlorn!  Great job!

Hi Cheryl, In this day when adults are feeling so overwhelmed with life, it makes a positive impact on the buyer when they see a master bedroom that is ready for them to move right in. After all, they are the ones putting the money down on this home and they deserve to be treated well.
