It is a completely true story, but I don't claim to know what it was that I saw.

I was in High School at the time. I live near a small town that includes much farming community. There is/was a road that was very secluded and private near where I live. The homes are/were far from the road and rarely was anyone there. It was the perfect place to do things you're not supposed to do homework when you were a teenager.

As I have mentioned, this area is very secluded. My boyfriend at the time and I had been there many occasions and rarely even seen another car. I don't remember any or many street lights. On one particular night we were driving down the road and saw a group of 20-30 people standing in a field, just inside a fence. They were all staring up at the sky as if mesmerized. We first only noticed them because it was such an unusual sight to see people standing there. None of them even seemed to notice when we drove up, at least they didn't turn their heads away from what they were watching in the sky.

We then looked up and saw an object hovering, very still in the sky, not far from us and not far above the land. There were white lights around the bottom of the craft. We all stared for a few minutes; the lights started to flash and suddenly we just saw a streak of light head up and to the right, and the craft disappeared. I don't recall seeing any other aircraft move this fast before or since.

What was this? I can't claim that I know, but I do know what I saw and this is a true story as I remember it. After the craft left I noticed the people standing in the field visibly shaking their heads and bodies as if trying to snap out of a daze. They still didn't seem to notice us as we drove away.
