If you leave a comment, Russel will visit your blog and comment....Buy a cool camera, take it with you, and stroll the neighborhood.

In listening to many home inspectors in other parts of the nation, I believe I'm pretty lucky in that Realtors here seem to respect my time, and I theirs, because they rarely are late to an inspection. If they know they are going to be late, they always call to let me know.

Today Mr. Realtor called to let me know that he was running about 45 minutes late. Normally that wouldn't be a problem because I'd just start on the outside. However, when one is inspecting a condominium on the 33rd floor, there is no outside to start on.

So I just grabbed my new Canon Rebel camera, put some nickels and dimes in the meter, and took off for a downtown stroll, getting lots of good pictures for future slide shows concerning the National Association of Realtors 2009 Convention here in San Diego in November.

I also got this picture:

That is such a neat photo, Russel.  I have a Canon Rebel EOS and love it.  I've had it for about 4 years and can't live without it at functions.

Hey, Heather - My camera is becoming more important to me than my cell phone -- LOL. Unfortunately, the camera is bulkier and does not fit conveniently in any of my pockets. I suppose I'll make do, though.

Hey, Rita - Check out all the great new stuff on eBay. After my experiences with eBay when they first got started, I never dreamed that I would ever be recommending them. I don't like auctions unless I'm physically present, so I really appreciate eBay's "Buy now for $xxx.xx" option.

Hey, Mike - I don't know if they were playing or fighting, but the one pigeon kept landing on the back of the other one. I took about forty pictures trying to get one of the bird on the back of the other. Good thing we don't have to pay for film or processing anymore.

Hey, Tony & Darcy - It's a picture that I never would have been able to get with my digital non-SLR camera because of the shutter delay and the processing time required for each picture.

Russel, very cool shot. Sometimes when someone is late it really is worth it. Guess you were where you were supposed to be to get that shot!

Hey, Russel. What a good idea. I hate to tell you that you would not have the opportunity with me. I am always 20-30 minutes early. I now know to make sure I take my camera. Take care my friend, Jim

What a shot!  Now you've really sold me on that Canon -- amazing to get the shutter speed on a digital to catch that...

Hey, Shoshana - It's the difference between a "digital" camera and a "digital SLR" camera. I have a very good and sturdy digital camera, the HP Photosmart. But the problem has always been the delay when one presses the shutter button. With a digital SLR, there is actually a lens that allows you to see exactly what you're going to shoot, and when you press the shutter button, that lens pops up, allowing the camera to take the picture. There is no delay.

I'm going to be doing a review on the Canon Rebel XSi shortly since I've now taken over 1,000 pictures with it and all the lenses that came with it.
