Allyn's History amazes DinahResting above the tides and below the earth a rock hold the secrets of centuries.

Visited in the 1930's and explored by scientists the depth of this rock is undetermined.

Many locals know of it's existence. although those new to the area may not have heard of it.

The Indian carvings are said to go down as far as the rock itself. Many have thought that it was deposited here from ice age glaciers, although no one really knows.

My kids love to visit the rock along the pebbled shore and imagine what children centuries ago did... where did it come form and what does it say.

Don't you wish you knew the secrets this rock has?  How old?  It is fascinating to wonder who has been before us many years before, experiencing the same wonders of nature.

The pebbled shores remind me of when I lived in Washington state as a kid, Dinah.  All the shoreline is pebbled (at least the part you actually get to step on).  I didn't actually see a sandy shoreline until I moved back to California.

Heather I was shocked when I flew into Florida and saw white beaches and turquoise water!

Judy- I love working with pictures. It makes my thoughts wonder. Or was that the ruby red glass of wine?

Maria- My girls have wonder this beach since before they could walk.

Matt- I almost missed you. The rock is about up to my knee and I was told they went down 30 feet to excavate it and still did not find the bottom.

That is really cool!  Very intriguing for curious mind.  I think I'll have to visit it next time I'm in Washington.
