It's funny to see a rusty old barge next to all those impressive buildings. I guess it is still the best way to move things around.

Missy, this photo seems almost futuristic to me. I love architecture but if I were on that river, I would be hoping there were some big trees around the next bend - know what I mean?

Chicago is an amazing city, Missy.  I got to go there when my brother-in-law got married 3 years ago and have been hounding my husband to go back ever since.  I'm also an architecture nut.  I got some fabulous photos when we went on the boat tour through the city.  AMAZING!

Reminded me of a time we went rafting down the Colorado River and looking up at the canyon walls.  Cool picture!

Missy,

Wow, quite a photo. Interesting light, I do not see shadows, but looks like the sky is not overcast. Are you shooting with a digital SLR? You might try shooting it with a polarizing filter, I think the results would have been interesting. It might bring back the sky, and make the photo more dramatic.

It is a very nice photo, I am just playing with ideas...

MIssy -  I know right where that is, having been there a bunch of times. Love Chicago to visit but would never live there, at least not in the winter. :)

All Chicago needs is a few gondolas to use on windless days.  Oops!  Forgot:  The Windy City.

How about sailboats?

Beautiful, beautiful photo.  Puts me in memory of my last trip to Chicago whereby I can recall this very scene or something very similar.  Beautiful.

I see Ms. Erica Smith has spammed you too.  She gets around.

Missy, Cool photo. Chicago is a cool town, but I am not overly fond of the downtown traffic...

Missy - just think, if the river was still catching fire all of the terrific reflections on the buildings. Beautiful photo.

Missy:  What a great photo.  I have not been to Chicago in many years.  I was not aware of the river traffic, or canals, or whatever.  Really cool.  I'd love to take that river tour that someone above mentioned.

Also... to you and Lenn... yes, Ms Erica Smith spammed me too.  She must have a lot of time on her hands.

I love Chicago for so many reasons - including fond memories as an adult and as a kid.  I hope you took the architectural tour by boat - pretty interesting.
