I finished a recent downtown inspection at the start of rush hour, and since it's fourteen miles back to my office, I just zipped on over to the Zoo a couple of miles away to see what was going on there.
With just an hour to go until the Zoo closed, I knew I had to decide while driving to the Zoo what part I would visit.
I chose to walk briskly over to the lowland gorillas, and I'm sure glad I did. Almost all of them were relaxing very close to the glass window, and one of the younger gorillas was playing hide and seek behind his mother with one of the younger humans.
Daddy was relaxin' and takin' it all in:

If all animals do is eat, play, and sleep...why can't humans? No, we are trapped through economic enslavement and brain washing. Time to get back to nature with the other animals.
Hey, Joanna - I stood there and watched him for about 20 minutes just chewing on the grass and basically ignoring momma and baby.
Hey, Tony - I eat, play, and sleep, too, just not as much as the animals do. But many animals have to spend most of their day searching for food, especially with their habitats under attack from human development.
Hey, Andrea - There you go with a great understatement again. I'm am taking longer walks, losing weight, and generally feeling a lot better. I blame that on the camera.
Hey, Jim - Every time the Zoo renovates their exhibits, they seem to be putting more and more glass walls in, especially in their sleeping areas, so we can see them even when they are hiding out sleeping. The new Elephant Odyssey which opened last month has windows into the sleeping areas of the tigers, jaguars, etc. Pretty cool. Tell Maria and Josh hello.
Hey, Diane - Wednesdays tend to be one of my busiest days of the week. Always has been, regardless of what industry I was in. Could be why I grew up calling it "Hump Day."
Hey, Tammy - But when you do get out here, I'll probably have a free pass for you for the Zoo and/or the Wild Animal Park.
Hey, Vince - I dare not say that I actually used my "good camera" at my inspection this morning because all of my rechargeable AA batteries for my digital camera were not charged. I hate them. I'm actually considering buying another digital SLR camera for home inspections.
Awwww, that's so sweet! I saw that NC was going to try a "vet camp" at the zoo. I think starts at age 10 and up. Kids can go for a week and learn what it is like "behind the scenes". My daughters' love animals and are fascinated with the habitats. I will probably send girls next year (if they do it again).
