Do I have to choose now? It's like choosing between Angelina and Jennifer. Can't I have both?

Ha! Joe, you have a good point. One thing that surprises me is that the majority of the features being highlighted for the new iPhone that's coming out Friday are included in this OS update for existing iPhone users.  Bad planning maybe?  I'm less tempted to run out Friday and buy the new hardware.

I'm still within my 30 days on my iPhone return policy and I don't know if I should go in return this one and ask for the new one (I asked the day I bought this one and they said there was no truth to the rumor that a NEW one was coming out) or to take it back and get the difference in price back and keep this one...

I'm suprised that VOICE RECOGNITION DIALING is not in the software update but IS on the new iPhone.  That's pretty standard on even plain jane phones these days!

I have to wait until September. I have been happy with the existing phone even with it's limitations because of what it does well, and the apps. This makes it stronger, and before the end of the year it is supposed to work with Supra lockboxes as they make them compatible with Bluetooth. I haven't been happy with how it works on Bluetooth headphones. Do you know if that was improved? I guess I will find out in about ten minutes when I try it.

I went for the new 32GB phone and anxious to try it out!  AT&T underestimated the demand and they say it could take 48 hours to activate!  So, in the meantime, I can only play with the other features until the phone part works.  So far...I'm pretty impressed!!  Love the video addition...that's what hooked me on my decision.

Can't we update our 3G?

Seems like this should be one of the benefits of being with Apple. Just like we can get updates for our laptops.

Duhhh....

just figured it out.

Step 1.

Make sure you are using iTunes 8.2. Connect your iPhone to your computer.

Download iTunes 8.2

Step 2.

When iTunes opens, select your iPhone under Devices in the Source List on the left.

Step 3.

In the iPhone Summary pane, click Check for Update.

Step 4.

Click Download and Install. Do not disconnect your iPhone until the update has finished.

More than excited...but quite impatient at how long this is taking. Gotta download more applications!
