I had the privelege of spending the day with EXIT Realty President of US Operations Tami Bonnell and EXIT Realty International's Technology Guru, Jeff Lobb. I am the broker/owner of EXIT Hill Country Realty and one of the things that I love about EXIT Realty is that the leadership all the way to the top is real and in touch with their franchisees, brokers, regional owners and agents. We see the CEO and President of the company several times a year...today they were in my community, a rural market outside of San Antonio, Texas.
Tami Bonnell gave a very inspirational and motivational presentation in the morning session to the broker/owners and was accompanied by Jeff Lobb, who is our Technology Director. One of the first things he asked the broker/owners was how many had heard of Active Rain and the second question was "How many of you are on it?"
I raised my hand for both and then proceeded to give a testimonial about my blog and the listing I got through it recently. His point was that the broker/owners need to know what the tools and forums are so that they can inform and train their agents on what is out there and how to use it to build business.
The afternoon session was geared toward the agents, but the broker/owners were in attendance where Jeff once more gave his real estate technology talk, again asking who had heard of Active Rain and of those who had, who was using it. I was loving this, because I am a walking testimonial for how this stuff works and what it can do for your internet presence and your business.
Friday I am premiering my MCE Class that I authored called "Online Marketing...FREE and Cheap" at the Texas Association of REALTORS Region 7 meeting. The response to my class was so overwhelming that they had to move me from the classroom that had a maximum occupancy of 34 people to the dining room because over 60 people have signed up to take my class.
I am so delighted to be a part of training agents on how to utilize the internet, blogging, web marketing and social networking to build a successful real estate business. I am sure that I will be blogging on the outcome of the class next week...so stay tuned!
