The other day I had a problem come up. I had a seller that was using a relocation company, and they tried to extort a 40% referral fee out of me. I felt cornered, and was upset at the fact I had discounted my commission. So, I did the first thing that came to my mind.
I asked the ActiveRain community for help. I also sent a personal email to Lenn Harley, one of the most knowledgeable people I have met here in the rain. I asked her if she had any advice on my situation.
I asked Lenn for advice for a very specific reason. I have stayed up late nights reading her vast information on her blogs. She has a keen knowledge for the legal system, and is one tough cookie. From what I gather by reading her blogs, she has a thorough understanding of herself. She knows what she does, she doesn't take crap from anyone, and a small piece of advice, don't mess with her, unless you're prepared for a heated debate.
Not only did she help me with my situation, she took time out of her day to write an excellent comment on my blog. Her comment was more then just a comment, it was a thorough explanation of over 20 years of real estate experience, and it saved me a 40% referral fee.
Aside from Lenn, there were over 50 helpful comments on other agents experiences. They all had some very thoughtful input, and I appreciate that. So, I use ActiveRain for a lot of my real estate questions, and if you have a question, I'm sure someone here on A|R can help you out.
There's only one problem, you actually have to ask, and be prepared for so much help, you will be overwhelmed.
