Hmmmm...Something Fishy About This...What's Your Take On It?

Ladies And Gentlemen...Give The Fish A Hand...Really! Fishing in Maine...how does one learn all about what types, where they hide, and get the overall picture onGotta Hand It To The Maine Fish the subject?  Good first place to start is www.pearl.maine.edu This powerful site is a tremendous database of quality information and fact-checking tool for fish, lake and watershed back ground for Maine! Also, rivers from lakes are a big part of watersheds.  The soil erosion from a cutting operation twenty miles away can affect the fish and choke them from run off and silt.  In Northern Maine, the Meduxnekeag River has had lots of study, funding to fix problems and overall public awareness education that really puts the bright light on the subject. Upcoming session coming up to learn more on just this river project and what is needed. The Meduxnekeag River Watershed contains over 1500 miles of beautiful rivers and streams and is home to more than 800 road-stream crossings?  These culverts are crucial fish passages and unfortunately many of them are in need of repairs.   The Organization for Watershed Living (OWL) along with the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians and Trout Unlimited are joining forces to conducts culvert surveys in the Meduxnekeag Watershed.
