Rarely do I ever get an opportunity to see a buck this time of the year. While walking around Radnor Lake the other day with my video camera, I came across this 10 pointer. It is cool to see the velvet still on the antlers. Sorry for the poor quality as the light was low and I snagged the still using a screen shot. But I guess it is the thought that counts, Right?

Michael do you thing the dear recognized that it was a camera and not a rifle and thought shoot this pose. Try finding that same dear in November when you do have the rifle.

Michael - Nice shot. That buck looks pretty big. The deer we have here in Florida are much smaller.

Michael, We have a lot of deer here in CT. So many in fact that people are saying they are a nuisance. I wonder what the deer say about the people.

Hi Michael....his antlers look so soft and velvety.  I know some people find deer a nuisance, I really hope this fellow lives on and on.......

Isn't he beautiful.  It still amazes me to think that people can actually pull a trigger on such a wonderful creature.

I think it's a great pic. When we lived in Northern California we would see deer, but in Texas I have not seen them much. We have a lot of cows though. :-)

Michael,

Just keep him out of Barbara Duncan's husbands garden or he will be a trophy.

He's going to be quite the beauty once that rack fills out! Good for you getting the shot!

Mike, great shot.  I can't believe he stood still long enough to get the picture.

I will make sure not to show this to my husband, Mike.  He likes to shoot these guys.  In fact, he's making a knife handle out of some deer antlers that he got the last time he went hunting.  Stinks to high heaven in that garage, but the handiwork is coming along beautifully.

Dead deer on the highway on the way to Atlanta yesterday. ;-( Love the velvet antlers. He's a big, handsome buck alright.
