Last March at the Keller Williams Convention in Orlando, Sara Tucholsky spoke.

This is her story about baseball, being at bat, NEVER hitting a home run, hitting one, breaking your ACL,last time at bat in your whole career.

You'll have to watch the video to see what happens but I promise you will be inspired.

The softball game will be long forgotten but not Sara's story.

I came home from KW convention and cried just telling my family about it. Today I found the video that was shown there and yep had to grab the tissues again.

This is NOT a sad story but about character.

Character is stepping up and doing the right thing at the right time.

The key was she got up to the plate expecting to fail but hit it to the fence

Damn Missy, you got me. That hit home as my daughter was a jock and (forgive my pride) she won, in high school, 2 state of Ohio softball and 3 volleyball state championships. I witnessed some remarkable sportsmanship in those great times and I think that had a lot to do with who my daughter is today. Those girls in the video will never forget that day and I bet they will be fine women as a result. Many thanks for sharing.

Missy - The people who do the right thing are always the winners, no matter what the score. Team sports bring out the best in people.

Missy,

I remember sitting there and watching both these young ladies during Mo Anderson's Inspirational Breakfast.  A great story.  Cool part for me is that our oldest son is a graduate of Central Washington University in Ellensburg.  And baseball and softball run in our family too.

Amazing character that shows what is important in life and what also doesn't matter much.

Thank you for the tissue alert.  They were needed.

What a terrific group of girls!  Their parents are also to be commended.

I had seen this before ... but it's always a welcome motivator!  This one is definitely a tear jerker ... but rightfully so since we may see ourselves as not doing all that we can.

Hi Missy!  As I write through the tears--I have always felt that victory is not about the actual sport or, where business is concerned, the productivity but, rather integrity.  What a beautiful story and this is not one that I have seen before.  Ray and I watched it together--you've put us both in a good place for the day!  Thanks for sharing.

Have a great weekend...

With so many not doing the right thing and we all see it daily in our business - it is truly refreshing to see the character displayed by these young girls. With out even knowing it their character helped fulfill a dream a goal for all to watch. A true Pay it Forward story.

Missy, I should have grabbed my tissues, I needed them.  What an incredible story.  It's amazing that the other team just 'did the right thing' instead of being concerned about who "WON" the game.  It would seem to be that both teams won that day....hands down.  Beautiful story that I won't forget.

Hi Missy - oh yeah, tears for sure and what a beautiful display of character.

"Character is stepping up and doing the right thing at the right time."   Character is something that's either ingrained in us or not, and when it's ingrained in you, you do the right thing without ever thinking about it for a split second, just like those girls did.

Thanks for sharing this clip - I had seen it back when it was on the news, but had forgotten about it.

Hi Missy...No tears in my eyes but I was filled with pride.  I am thoroughly convinced that there are so many, many young people with a great deal of character.

There are times we are told that kids are not like they once were.  I look at my children and their children and all the wonderful stories I read about the amazing things younger people do with their time (countless hours of volunteering, studying hard, entering the military, etc.) and I am reassured that life is good and that the future is bright because of them.

Thank you for sharing.  The young women from Central Washington did a wonderful thing for Sara.  All three of them hit a home run.

Missy, incredible and truly moving no matter how many times we've seen this run over and over when watching the good from one's soul being shown, no matter what.

Missy, THANK YOU. I had not seen it before, I had a little bit of goose bumps when integrity showed up like that.  Great reminder that we are in this whole "life thing" together.
